Based on the work the owner did at NASA regarding center of gravity studies, we set out to build a paddle board that would accomplish three objectives; be far more stable than typical paddle boards, increase the carrying capacity of paddle boards and to design the vessel so it will go further, faster with less effort.
All three objectives have been met and filed with the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
The Lightcraft team owes a big thanks to Harris County (Houston, Texas) Judge and Patent Lawyer Darryl Scott for helping us define and file the legal papers. Judge Scott also helped us file our griffin and script logos which are registered trademarks now too.
(A lot of people have asked about our griffin logo…our owner, Mr. Leslie’s surname and family heritage hails from aristocratic Scotland. The Leslie Clan has a griffin on their crest. A griffin is a mythical beast that is part lion and part eagle, so Mr. Leslie thought that was a good way to explain Lightcraft…which is part paddle board, part catamaran.)
